Coastal
Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Center
- Woman's Health
Specialties - North At the Medical Mall
We are a handicapped
accessible facility.
About Us:
We are the only private medical
practice in Wilmington directed by a physician who has
completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and
infertility and who has obtained national board certification.
We do not provide routine gynecological and obstetrical care,
but are instead available 100% of the time to diagnose and treat
infertility and reproductive disorders as well as to perform
complex reproductive surgery. Once our infertility
patients conceive, they are referred back to their obstetrician
for prenatal care and delivery.
We are also a part of Coastal
AHEC, which is dedicated to providing medical education and
clinical services to those needing reproductive health services
in a five county area of southeastern North Carolina.
Our Philosophy: (Mission)
At our Center, we believe
couples struggling with infertility should receive medical care focused
on the best
chance to have a baby. Even though our program
encompasses all of the latest advanced technology, it is
our practice to offer the least invasive, least expensive
options first and thereafter proceed at a pace that is
financially and emotionally comfortable to a couple. We
educate our patients regarding their treatment and encourage
them to actively participate in their medical care. We
understand that infertility is a stressful disorder that can
drain couples emotionally and financially. Our team approach
meets each couples unique needs by providing individualized, up
to date infertility care, dispensed with generous amounts of
emotional support.
Facts About Infertility
Treatments:
Couples may be reluctant to
seek infertility treatment because the media gives the
perception that infertility specialists only provide expensive
high tech treatment that puts couples at great risk for having a
"litter" of babies instead of the one baby they
desire. It is important for you to know that more than 80-90% of
the couples who have conceived at our center have done so without
high technology procedures such as IVF. Multiple babies do occur
with some infertility treatments, however in our hands a
single pregnancy is most common.

Financial and Insurance
information:
We accept physician and
self-referrals and are participating providers for most health
care plans. For
your own financial protection, please consult your insurance
plan prior to your appointment. Many insurance plans require you
to have a referral from your primary provider or gynecologist.
However, do not assume that your care here will be a covered
benefit because your doctor gave you a referral. Our financial
coordinator is available to help you understand the limits of
your coverage and will be happy to assist you with your plans
for payment when your insurance coverage is absent or limited.
Our fees fall within the
accepted range for specialized infertility care provided by a
staff who has achieved a very high level of specialization. We
do offer plans for those who do not have
insurance coverage for infertility. We accept cash, checks, Visa
and Mastercard for payment.
Appointments:
Our nursing staff or or financial coordinator will be happy to speak
with you regarding any questions or concerns you may have prior
to scheduling your appointment. Routine appointments are
scheduled Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. However,
our staff is available on weekends and holiday for scheduled
procedures, such as inseminations.
Preparing For Your First
Appointment:
To better serve you, we ask
that you have any pertinent medical records sent to us prior
to your appointment. We also ask you to complete our
paperwork and return it to us prior to your
appointment. To make the best use of your time at your initial
appointment, these records and forms are necessary. It will be
difficult for us to advise you fully if we do not have your
records. We do not want to repeat tests or procedures that have
already been done. Therefore, if your records and/or forms are
not received within three days prior to your appointment, we
will suggest rescheduling your appointment.
One hour of our physician or
nurse practitioner's time is set aside for your first
appointment. If you do not keep your appointment, their time
lays waste. Therefore, please call to cancel your appointment if
you will be unable to keep it. The time can then be filled by
another couple waiting to see us. If you are seeking
infertility treatment, we would like to have your partner join
you for this appointment, if possible. We look forward to
meeting with you!
