Community Training Center Functions
 

The AHA established a network of Training Centers to broaden its outreach of Emergency Cardiovascular Care educational courses and to strengthen the Chain of Survival. This training center is responsible for the administration and quality assurance of ECC courses. Our functions will include:

  • Serving as liaison to the American Heart Association.
  • Implementing AHA ECC Science and education in the community.
  • Administering ECC training networks for New Hanover, Brunswick, Duplin, Pender, and Columbus counties.
  • Course Approval
  • Site Approval
  • Conduct AHA Courses
  • Maintaining and managing the instructor database.
  • Transcript of training activities during the year.
  • Maintaining and managing course record database.
  • Quality assurance of AHA educational courses.
  • Serving as regional resource for AHA instructors.
  • Instructor Updates
  • Issue Instructor Cards
  • Course Completion Cards
  • Participating in AHA studies.

The goal of the American Heart Association, as well as this training center, is to "reduce disability and death from cardiovascular disease and stroke. We work to accomplish this mission through partnerships between volunteers and staff." The impact goal of the AHA is "to reduce coronary heart disease, stroke, and risky by 25% by the year 2010."
